　　年轻的Josh Groban是最近两年成长起来的一名非常优秀的古典流行男歌手。Josh Groban出生在美国加利福尼亚州的重镇洛杉矶，是一名土生土长的洛杉矶男孩，同时也是一名非常正统的歌手，七年级开始就开始唱歌，他从学校的时候就加入了学校的合唱团，并且顺理成章的在长大之后进入了Interlochen Arts Program学习进修，在那里，Josh Groban非常认真的听了每一节音乐课，并且开始在当地的一些音乐剧院的表演中登台演出。很快，他的演唱才华就被“伯乐”相中，非常富有经验的制作人兼歌曲作者David Foster非常看好他的能力和前途，从此，Josh Groban就开始跟随David Foster参加表演。

　　Josh Groban在1998年非常成功的参加了于不久前被“终结者”阿诺德·施瓦辛格所取代的加利福尼亚州前任州长，民主党人格雷·戴维斯(Grey Davis)的州长就职仪式的节目表演。1999年，在格莱美颁奖典礼前，Josh Groban被David Foster选中，代替由于身体原因未能出席的Andrea Bocelli和著名的加拿大天后Celine Dion一起排演《The Prayer》。随后在David Foster的帮助下，尽管仍然在大学里进修，但是Josh Groban还是接受了Warner Bros. Records唱片公司的合同，Josh Groban正式成为了一名签约歌手。

　　Josh Groban在和Warner Bros. Records唱片公司签约之后暂时停止了自己在大学的学业，而非常投入的在David Foster的身边着手自己的第一张个人专辑的制作。2001年，对于年仅20岁的Josh Groban来说是具有里程碑意义的，他的第一首单曲出现在了好莱坞大导演史蒂芬·斯皮尔伯格的科幻大片《人工智能(A.I.: Artificial Intelligence)》的电影原声碟中，在这首由Josh Groban和Lara Fabian合唱的单曲《For Always》发行后不久，Josh Groban又在电视节目《Ally McBeal》中频频亮相。2001年11月20日，Josh Groban的首张个人专辑《Josh Groban》终于发行，虽然在专辑发行之后的第一周，在Billboard排行榜中仅仅名列第127位，但是随着在2002年Josh Groban在电视和各大媒体的露脸次数逐渐增多，这张专辑的销量也节节攀升，并且在最高的时候排在了排行榜第八位，专辑的总销量也超过了200百万张，Josh Groban成为了一个明星。

　　此后的时间里，Josh Groban参加了更多的媒体节目和宣传活动，他还参加了在挪威首都奥斯陆举行的诺贝尔和平奖颁奖典礼上的文艺演出，同时Josh Groban又发行了自己的第一张现场专辑《Josh Groban in Concert》。Josh Groban又和The Corrs，Sting，Lionel Richie以及前Boyzone乐团成员Ronan Keating等歌星一起参加了在罗马教廷举行的演唱活动，通过一系列的推广之后，Josh Groban渐渐的成为了一名世界性的歌星。2003年11月11日，Josh Groban的第二张个人专辑《Closer》正式发行。
